Also, B-king. Not sure what a B-king is, but it looks like it should be in Gundam.

More realistically, FJR? Aren’t these basically Yamaha’s version of a VFR800?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
And on two different ends of the spectrum, an S1000rr in the preferred colorway, and PERFECTLY vintage gixxer. I’d hang it as wall art...

Okay, that guy from months ago with His and Hers’ KLR650s? Yeah, they’re still for sale. Says he’d accept best offer. I still love the idea of one of these, and they seem to be kitted out pretty well for what I’d want. Commuting, and weekend camping trips, with plenty of dirt trails to work on my skills. Who wants to buy the other one for an unbreakable bond the likes of which has never before been seen on oppo?

Atsfgeoff has an FJR. He could probably answer any questions you might have. My vote is a KLR, but I might just be a fan of that green.

I’ve never ridden with panniers, and they scare me a little, I’m afraid they’d somehow get caught on something or otherwise lead to a crash. Admittedly, I can be paranoid when riding. I also like the idea of being narrow. Mind you, I consider myself the lowest intermediate level at best.
Those Busas seem like a lot of bike for the money, but they might not attract the most gentle people. I’d look for the newest best one I could find. Same for the S1000RR - for the price on that, I might just go for a new one. I bet there will be deals to be had if the current unpleasantness escalates any further. My ideal would be an R rather than an RR for less aggressive ergos, and I’d want the blue/white scheme (ideal Busa would also be blue). I like those BMWs for their well-developed modes - I’d have it in docile mode most of the time.
I’ve read good things about the FJR. IIRC they also made an automatic variant, which most would whine about, but I don’t hate the idea. I too have no memory of a B-King - I want to be freaked out by that tail, but I don’t hate it. I bet it’s insane, to a dangerous level and maybe too intense for me, unless it has a docile riding mode. That 1987 bike, if only it wasn’t project bike hell. Those are a dual headlight style, and that alone gets me going.
For the KLRs, with this panic, I bet if you showed up with cash - maybe $4600 for the fancy one and $4000 for the low seat one, you could have them. Definitely a known entity with a fan base, hard to go wrong.

I’m going to wait a bit given current uncertainty, but if it’s still there in a month or so... I’ll probably show up with a cash offer. That green is definitely sweet.

I saw an auto example on Craigslist! Seemed like a weird psuedo semi-auto, with shifting available at the foot pegs or hand controls?
I’ll be watching the market closely for however long our current situation lasts. I just wish the Miata had sold weeks ago

Those KLRs...... The one has a lot of mods for people who do a lot of riding....but it only has 3k miles on it. I’m betting either he didn’t like it, or he installed something wrong. KLRs are not often the bike you get to load up with “farkles” and then not ride it.

Like everything else, you get used to riding with panniers after a bit.
The B-King skipped
me entirely but the bike and the
name is wild.

KLR looks the least likely to kill you immediately? Or maybe the FJR?
B-King is wild. The GSXR 750 stirs up nostalgia.

The exhaust on the B-king definitely has anime proportions.

Given the even lower mileage on the wife’s bike I’m inclined to believe it may have just been an upper middle class husband’s adventure dream that didn’t materialize. I might be too trusting though, you’d think they’d both have R 1200's if that was the case

Yep, I think a clutchless manual. I forget the data as it has been years (and I am too lazy to look). Still, one less complication isn’t a bad thing for me anyway - it’s not that I mind shifting, but one less worry might keep me from getting ham-fisted. Another attraction of electric bikes.
Yeah, probably not the best time to be selling a car, especially one meant for fun. Good luck, it’s likely a buyer’s market.

I bet the KLR would be about as docile as the scooter. T hat FJR on the other hand... I was expecting way less power.
II feel like I recognize the B-king from somewhere but I just can't think of where...

The bike looks massive. 10/10 could cameo Cowboy bebop or similar.

It’s still a bit overpriced too, IMO. I’d get the yellow one for wel over a grand less and then upgrade the suspension. 2014.5 on up had a stiffer suspension and a better seat from the factory. But all KLRs use the same parts as “upgrades” from 2008 onwards. So the aftermarket seats mean there’s one difference out and if you have a grand or more to spend, you can get a NICE suspension set up and have enough left over for an Eagle Mike engine/drivetrain makeover.

yeah, you’ll die on all of them except the KLR.
The FJR is
too big for my taste
.
Just realized I’m not going to be able to touch the ground on the KLR.
